Welcome

This blog is intended to share family photos of the entire Bursey family, both past and present. If you would like me to add some of your photos (always welcome) please just e-mail them to me at jenlmelvin@hotmail.com and I will post them for you. Feel free to share this website address with anyone in the family you wish.

I will add photos as I scan them into my computer, which I am sure will takes months as I have hundreds. Feel free to check back anytime to take a look for new ones. You will be able to check the archived photos/entries by clicking on the month they were posted on the far left of the screen.

If you would like to see a bigger version of any photo, just double click on it and it should enlarge. This will work with most photos, but not all.

If you want to save any of the pictures to your own computer, just place your cursor over the photo and right click on it with your mouse. Then pick "save picture as" from the list that pops up. The name I have associated with the photo should automatically populate, so if you don't write over the name that comes up, then it will be saved with the name of the person/people in the photo. Just be sure to check the name of the folder you are saving the photos to, because sometimes this will automatically be saved into a temporary folder, which could get erased when running virus scans, etc. Just check the "save in" name at the top of the screen when you are saving. If you want it saved into a different folder just click the arrow at the right side of the box by "save in" and you can back up to which ever folder you have on your computer that you would like to use.

Once you have them saved into your computer, you can print them, e-mail them or upload them to the Wal-Mart online photo store if you like. They will print them off and all you have to do is go pick them up when they are ready. I do that a lot and it is fairly cheap.

You can also add a comment to any posting if you like. If you click the "comments" at the bottom of each blog entry, then you can also view any comments made by other people. If I think of any stories to add about any pictures after I have aready made the posting, then I will add it in as a comment. Plus, it is a great way for the family members who are viewing the photos to discuss family history and get to know each other a bit.

You will notice that you have to type a "word verification" word in order to leave a comment. This is just to verify that a person is leaving a comment, as opposed to spam, just like the kind you may get in your e-mail inbox.

Also, if you do not have your own blog then in order to leave a comment you just select "other" under the box where you type in your comment. Then please type in your name. You can leave the box asking for your web page address blank. Then just hit "publish your comment" and it is done.

It is really easy. I just explained the death out of it just in case someone is not as computer literate as we would all wish we were.

Enjoy!
